My name is Olga and I am an artist from Latvia. I have been painting

for more than 20 years.

​

At the heart of my art practice is the transformation of reality and

the creation of a contemporary myth.

​

Modern person exists in the duality of our cave mystical past and

technological present. Our mythical past is vast, but for many people

the old myths no longer work. Therefore, I painstakingly create a puzzle

of reality, conjecture and fiction and offer it to the viewer. I propose to take my puzzle, transform it for yourself, rearrange the pieces as you wish and write your own story. I involve the viewer in the creation of a new mythology. He creates his own myth, changing the reality around. I'm just giving the raw source material. Details of my painting, as parts of a universal kit, are suitable for anyone.

I want to enable my audience to feel the flicker of something huge, inexplicable, strange and beautiful out of the corner of their eye.

​

I hope my art would knock the audience out of the cocoon of routine and rationality, would give the opportunity to dive into an irrational and ephemeral world. Penetrating the person’s universe, the paintings encourage or provoke people to meet their inner peace and encounter their true self.
