This Beautiful Flower can't stand anything else being as lovely as it is, so it sends out spirits to take away the beauty and youth from everything around.

Flowers fade the fastest because they are so beautiful; people age more slowly because the Beautiful Flower doesn't think they are very pretty; and stones hardly change at all because the Beautiful Flower doesn't even notice such ugly things.

The people of Eastern Seita believe that to keep safe from the Beautiful Flower's jealousy, you need to surround yourself with either very beautiful things, so the spirits will look at them instead of you;

Or with ugly things, so the spirits will think there's nothing beautiful there and go away
